Trusts have many benefits but are often viewed as expensive if they
only hold uncomplicated assets such as a unit trust or an insurance
bond. To overcome this we have a range of cost effective short form
trusts otherwise known as our Portfolio Trusts available.
These are limited purpose Trusts that are restricted by what they can own.
These assets are defined as 'Permitted Asset Classes' and are listed below.
The Portfolio Trust Service
3 options are available, each permitting the owning
of 1 or more Permitted Asset Classes:
- The Portfolio Trust - any 1 Permitted Asset Class
- The Advanced Portfolio Trust - any 2 Permitted Asset Classes
- The Advanced Plus Portfolio Trust - any 4 Permitted Asset Classes
Permitted Asset Classes
- Professionally Managed Portfolio of licensed and regulated funds
- Unit linked single premium life policy
- Up to 4 funds with 1 unit trust company
- Bank Account with institutions other than Close Bank Guernsey Limited
Excluded Asset Classes
- Regular premium investments
- Direct holdings of equities or fixed Interest investments
- Real-estate
- Unlicensed or unregulated collective investment schemes
- Private company shares (unless company is administered by Close Trustees
Guernsey Limited)
If you require any of the 'Excluded Asset Types' to be included in your trust
you will have to establish a 'Personal Trust', also known as a 'Specialist
Trust'.
